About Us

Honoring Heritage, Sharing Hope

To many tribes, eagle feathers symbolize Truth. Inspired by this, Two Feathers Ministries was established to share the ultimate Truth — the Gospel of Christ — with indigenous peoples.

Since 2007, Rick and Deborah Kesecker have been driven by a singular mission: to share the transformative hope of Christ with Native American communities. What originated as a local church initiative has matured into Two Feathers Ministries, a non-profit dedicated to bridging the gap between the local church and North American reservations.

Our approach is rooted in the belief that true impact requires more than just a visit; it requires a consistent, culturally honoring presence. By mobilizing dedicated teams, we facilitate high-energy Bible camps, discipleship training, and vital outreach programs designed to meet both spiritual and practical needs.

Our Journey

From Corporate to Calling

Early Career

Foundation in Leadership

With degrees in Management and Finance, Rick and Deborah spent years navigating the dynamics of Fortune 100 firms. These professional skills in strategic planning and team dynamics proved vital when they were asked to build the missions program at Double Oak Community Church (DOCC) from the ground up.

2007

Backpacks to Yakama

After a mission trip to the Yakama Indian Reservation, the Keseckers launched a Christmas campaign to provide children with gift-filled backpacks. This initiative blossomed into a legacy of service — to date, 6,375 backpacks have been delivered to children in need.

2010

Two Feathers Founded

A family on the reservation presented Rick and Deborah with a profound gift: two eagle feathers. To many tribes, these feathers symbolize Truth. Inspired by this gesture, Two Feathers Ministries was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit to share the ultimate Truth — the Gospel of Christ — with indigenous peoples.

2011

Discipleship & Leadership Training

The first group of McKinley Indian Mission Youth traveled to Birmingham, AL, for intensive training and discipleship skills.

2012

Warrior Leadership Summit

Escorted McKinley Youth to the national Warrior Leadership Summit (WLS), a conference for Native American and First Nations young people. The summit is designed as a "movement of hope" for Native youth who often face significant challenges on reservations, including high rates of suicide, abuse, and addiction.

2012

Navajo Nation Outreach

Officially expanded the Backpack & Bears program to serve children within the Navajo Nation.

2014

Choctaw Backpack Expansion

The Backpack & Bears program grew again, reaching children of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians.

2016

Intercultural Studies Certification

Recognizing a deep calling to the mission field, Rick and Deborah pursued formal training to better serve tribal nations. They received certificates in Intercultural Studies from Birmingham Theological Seminary, blending their business acumen with theological depth.

2016

Choctaw VBS & Youth-Led Ministry

Outreach to the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians expanded through facilitation of Vacation Bible School at Pearl River Baptist Church. First McKinley Youth-led VBS on the Yakama Reservation.

2019

Portrait Ministry Launched

Free professional portraits helping First Nations families build a visual legacy — documenting life’s moments and declaring, "We were here, and we mattered."

2022

PRBC Fall Fest

Pearl River Baptist Church hosted its first annual Community Outreach Event, marking a new chapter in collaborative ministry.

2024

Choctaw Bible Translation Partnership

Partnered with the Choctaw Bible Translation Committee (CBTC) to translate VBS Daily Bible Verses into the Choctaw language. We are not just teaching children words; we are honoring the heartbeat of their heritage and grounding God’s eternal promises in the very language of their home.

Today

3 Reservations & Growing

Two Feathers now serves three reservations — Yakama, Choctaw, and Navajo — through VBS, backpack distribution, clothing ministry, portrait ministry, leadership development, and community outreach.

Mobilization — Equipping and leading teams to serve alongside indigenous leaders on reservations across North America.

Discipleship — Investing in the next generation of Native believers through mentorship and leadership development.

Strategic Partnerships — Identifying and empowering local church partners to engage in sustainable, Christ-centered ministry.

Practical Service — Demonstrating the love of God through tangible acts of service that respect tribal traditions and community values.

We don’t just provide programs — we build long-term relationships.

We are committed to standing with our First Nations brothers and sisters, fostering a legacy of faith that is as enduring as the communities we serve.
