Purchasing a professional portrait is often a luxury that is sacrificed for food, rent, or utilities. Consequently, these families frequently lack a physical visual history. When life events occur — there is no professional record to mark the passage of time. Providing these portraits helps these families build a legacy. It allows them to participate in the universal human tradition of documenting family life, providing a tangible artifact that declares, “We were here, and we mattered.”
Our Tribe Photography
In 2019, Our Tribe Photography began providing free professional portraits — both in print and digital formats — to families at Pearl River Baptist Church for special occasions like back-to-school and holidays. The importance of offering this ministry was solidified during the COVID-19 pandemic, when we realized that these images often became the most cherished memorials for families honoring loved ones they had lost.
